Hello, @MrShaikat - Hope you are well 🙂

Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

I see that you are having issues after replacing your cartridge. I am afraid that you have purchased the wrong cartridge for your printer. While both HP 662 & 678 cartridges are manufactured to work with your printer, HP 662 is specific to the printer purchased from Latin America region. HP 678 will only work with the printer purchased from Asia Pacific region. Check the list below:

Hence I would recommend you get an HP 662 cartridge if you have initially purchased the printer from the Latin America region.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Good luck 🙂

Hello, @MrShaikat

Thanks for the update!

Let's try to print a test page to determine whether we can perform some reset on your printer. Try the steps below:

  1. Load clean, white U.S. Letter or A4 paper in the input tray, if necessary.

  2. Press and hold the Power button. While holding down the Power button, press and hold the Cancel button. Hold them both down for 2 or 3 seconds.

If you get a test page with detailed cartridge information, let me know!

Thanks, I'll watch for your reply!

Good luck 🙂

Thank you for your reply.

I did some research and found that your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 1515 All-in-One Printer cannot be set to another region.  Hence you need to get the correct cartridge for your printer to make it work. Please refer to "Ink cartridges" from this link to check the compatibility list.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Cheers! 🙂

I need some additional information from you because I'm trying to explore if we could regionalize our printer.

  • I read that the printer was purchased in Bangladesh. If you're still living in Bangladesh then use the same cartridge that is meant for that region.
  • If you have moved to another country then please let me know which country it is and I will look for regionalization options so that you may use the cartridges which are marketed in that region.

Please do let me know. Cheers!

Hi MKazi,
Thank you for your support.
I bought the printer from bangladesh and still using it in bangladesh. but I guess the printer was meant to be for latin america. because its written hp original 662 cartridge on the printer. The shop who imported it, I guess they made the mistake, now I can't find 662 ink anywhere in bangladesh. If I try to purchase it from online it will be very costly from my country's perspective. all the shop recommend me 678, as they don't have idea about regional thing and they say hp doesn't produce 662, and 678 is for my hp 1515 printer.
Now I am out of idea what to do. Please help me, if you can debug my printer code or something.

@MrShaikat

You're welcome. 🙂 Thanks for the detailed information.

Please reply with the following information. I'm working with a team for possible options:

  • The exact product model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l. The model no. you provided does not provide accurate results.
  • Please send me a picture of the cartridges (662 and 678).

I will watch for your response. Thanks again!
