Hello

About a week ago, the printer started adding an extra page with the letters "PDF" on them to every print job. This includes print jobs that have nothing to do with a PDF, by the way.

If it's a double sided print with an uneven number of pages, the "PDF" will be printed on the backside of the last sheet. In every other case it will be printed on an extra sheet of paper.

We don't seem to be the only one with this isse, because when I googled for it, Googles "auto complete" basically finished the search term to describe the issue. (I types something like "HP printer prints extra" and it suggested "letters PDF" or something like this.) So I assume a lot of people searched for that issue recently. Unfortunately it didn't give a solution.

So that's why I'm here. What is this and what can we do about it?

- The Driver is "HP Color LaserJet Pro M478f-9f PCL-6 (V4)", downloaded from the HP-Website. The printer itself has the latest Firmware.

- There is no separator page in that driver that I could find.

It worked normal for about two months, the problems started about two weeks ago.

The problem exists when printing from two different computers as well as from an Android Mobile Device, so I doubt that it has something to do with wrong settings in the Driver. It must be a problem with the printer itself.

However: The problem is solved now. While I was typing this message I rebooted the printer via it's web-interface and that made the problem go away. (I thought that I already rebooted the printer via the phyiscal button two days ago without it solving anything - but maybe I didn't press the button long enough and only sent it to stand-by... who knows.)

Do you know which driver you are using?

Check your driver to make sure that you do not have separator page function turned on.
