When i print an image which I have downloaded from the internet, the colors are not true to the original (lots of blue in it). I have printed directly from the printer itself and it is fine. I changed the color cartridge, did the clean, checked I had the correct software download and tried opening the image with paint, but still no good. I changed the setting to the fast eco setting which, although not that the brilliant, the picture itself if more true to the color. Can anyone help please.

Hi @anniegwen, and welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that when you print images you save from the internet the colors are not what you would expect and the printed output is more blue than the original. Since when printing directly form the printer (copying) the output is as expected, I suspect the issue has to do with the print settings, driver, or program you're printing from.
I suggest using the following steps to delete the printer from device and printers, and the driver from the server properties. This will help to isolate the driver.
1. In the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder
2. Choose ‘Print server properties’.
- Win XP – With no printer selected, click ‘File’ then ‘Server Properties’.
- Windows Vista – With no printer selected, press ‘Alt’ then click ‘File’ then ‘Server Properties’.
- Windows 7/8, 8.1, and 10 – Select any printer in the ‘Devices and Printers’ folder and click ‘Print Server properties’ above.
3. Click on the ‘Drivers’ tab at the top of ‘Print server properties’ window
4. Choose the printer you want to uninstall and click ‘Remove’
5. Choose 'Remove driver only'
6. The next screen will give a warning, letting you know that deleting the driver package will remove it from the system. Click ‘Yes’ to say that you are sure you want to do this.
If documents are stuck in the print spooler, you may see an error, cancel any documents pending in the print queue, or try restarting the print spooler, then try to remove the driver from ‘Print server properties’ again. If it still won’t remove the package, restarting the computer and the printer should resolve this ‘in use’ error and allow the driver to be removed.
- If the you continue to get an 'in use' message follow the steps in the document here; The Specified Printer Driver is Currently in Use
After the driver is removed, open Start > All Programs > HP folder > Printer folder > HP Setup and Software (or the printer icon). The Setup and software screen will open and you can click on Connect a new printer.
If the prints still do not match what you see on the screen, try printing from a different program. For example, instead of saving an internet image, print the image directly from the browser. In fat, that brings causes me to wonder, when you are saving, are you them printing on photo paper? Have you compared the print quality between an image printed on plain paper and an image on photo paper? If you are using photo paper and this is the only time the output is more blue than expected, please try different photo paper. I know it may seem unlikely, but I have seen the paper be the root cause more time than you'd probably imagine.
Let me know the outcome of your efforts to this point, and we will proceed if further troubleshoot is necessary. If something I have suggested resolves the issue, please click the Accept as Solution button below to flag your post as solved.
Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you.

Dear Sunshyn 2005
Many thanks for your information. I will show my son your advices when he's over tomorrow so he can help me follow your instructions. Its great to have something to go on. In the meantime I can try some more expensive paper which | have, to see if that makes a difference. When I got windows 10 my cd that went with my printer didnt work so I downloaded some drivers from the internet - perhaps they were wrong although HP Doctor said all seems ok. Anyway we will certainly try what you say. Many thanks for your help and I will get back to you to let you know the outcome one way or the other. Cheers

Hi again
I've just tried some premium ink jet paper which I only normally use for a special newsletter I have to do and it has come out fine. I was even disbelieving and double checked that the print setting was on the everyday print and not fast/economical. It was on the right setting so that looks like its done the trick. I use the cheap paper normally to save money but obviously its no good for this sort of thing. Why the printer should print colours fine when done directly, I dont know. All normal black and white text printing from saved pieces off the internet has been fine. I dont think I've tried saving flower images from the web since this time last year when we had a plant sale and at that time I had Windows 7 and all was fine. Many thanks for your help - I will keep your information though just in case. Best wishes Anniegwen
