When I try to print a color photo via photo viewer, HP smart app, Word, Acrobat and even Photoshop, the product is grayscale. However, when printing via my phone and the same HP smart app, I get a perfect color image - although the printing options are practically nonexistent compared to all of the above programs.
The issues started today - when I changed the color settings in photo viewer (windows default app) print settings>more settings from color to monochrome so I could print a test copy without wasting color - but the **bleep** thing refuses to change back to color. Noticeably, there is no APPLY button or SAVE or anything. I click the drop down for color, click ok, print then it's monochromatic. I'll even change it to color, click ok, then click back into more settings (just to see if it really saved) and it flips back to monochrome, refusing to adhere to color.
I have gone through the ringer uninstalling drivers, the printer, erasing temp files , restarting, reinstalling the driver and printer via the 123.hp.com, going into programs and making sure the checkbox for print background is checked and have been up and down on numerous forums for what appears to be a common issue. I am going around in circles. Changing back to color should NOT be this complicated - and still none of these solutions have worked.
Please help. This is not sustainable

The workaround could also work for your specific HP printer. If it is the case, thanks to give feedback.
