Yes. They're absolutely worthless. The rep kept saying the printer doesn't support a 5 x 12 paper size even when I told him I was able to set up that paper size and use it on this very same printer before I replaced my laptop.
I guess I'll figure out some work-around. Thanks for all you tried to do.

I am curious, will a 5x11 size show up?

Got it working. A rather strange set of events…
I worked with another HP support rep who installed another driver (one for an 8600-series printer) which had the ability to set up a custom form size in the Printer Preferences instead of using the “Forms” tab of the Print Server Properties. So we created the 5 x 12 paper size and it appeared in the drop-down Paper Size menu. But when I tried to print it, it wouldn’t print! For whatever reason, this printer driver wouldn’t/couldn’t communicate with my HP 8710 printer.
So we de-installed that driver and re-installed the correct one for the HP 8710 printer. And somehow, someway, the 5 x 12 paper size was still available in the Paper Size drop-down menu for the 8710 printer. Weird. It’s as if there’s a file of paper sizes that is accessed by the 8710 printer and which was updated by the 8600-series driver but is NOT updated when using the Forms tab in the Print Server Properties.
In any event, all is good. Thanks again for your efforts and your help.
