D110 tries to print two copies of everything without me asking and the second one gets hung up in queue and won't print.

I have to run HP scan and scan doctor to clear the queue or re-install the printer!

Thanks

Hi @Ringram32,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP D110 printer is automatically printing two copies of every document and the second copy gets stuck in the queue, there could be several underlying issues causing this behavior. Let’s walk through a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to help you resolve this problem:

1. Check Printer Settings

  • On Your Computer: When you send a print job, go to the print dialog box. Check the settings for the number of copies. Ensure it's set to 1 or the number of copies you want.
  • On Printer Control Panel: If your printer has a control panel, check for any settings related to the number of copies and adjust as needed.
  • Factory Reset: If the printer settings seem off, you might consider performing a factory reset on the printer. This will restore default settings, which might resolve the issue.

2. Check Print Queue

a. Clear Print Queue:

  • On Windows:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
    2. Right-click on your HP D110 printer and select See what’s printing.
    3. If there are stuck print jobs, click Printer > Cancel All Documents to clear the queue.
  • On Mac:
    1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Select your HP D110 and click Open Print Queue.
    3. Cancel any stuck print jobs by clicking the X next to each job.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • HP Support Website: Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your HP D110 printer. Install them according to the instructions.

b. Reinstall Drivers::

  1. Uninstall Drivers: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove Device.
  2. Reinstall: Download and install the latest drivers from HP’s website.

4. Check Software and Applications

  • Printer Software: Ensure that no third-party software or print management software is causing conflicts. Uninstall any print management software if you suspect it might be interfering.

b. Reinstall Printer Software:

  • HP Smart App: If you’re using the HP Smart app, try reinstalling it to see if that resolves the issue.

5. Run Printer Troubleshooters

  • Download Tool: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix common printing issues.
  • Run Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, and select Printer to run the built-in troubleshooter.

6. Check for Firmware Updates

  • HP Smart App: Use the HP Smart app or the HP Support website to check for and install any firmware updates for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

None of these worked.   The trouble shooting clears the queue but it does it again on next try
