How do I change the default folder for scanned documents to the computer? Out of the box, the location is set to OneDrive, which is not acceptable for us. Thanks!

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you want to change the destination folder to save the scan files. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
Are you trying to scan from printer control panel or using a scan software on the computer?
Meanwhile:
If you are try to scan from printer control panel, follow the below steps.
-
Search your computer for the name of your printer, and then click it in the list of results.
The HP Printer Assistant software opens.
-
Click Scan, and then click Scan a Document or Photo.
-
Select the shortcut you want to use (Save as JPEG, Save as PDF), and then click More to see Advanced settings.
-
Click the Destination tab.
-
Click Browse, select the folder you want to use, and then click OK.
NOTE:
You can also create a new folder by clicking Make New Folder.
Click here and refer the document for more steps.
Let me know how it goes.
Cheers.

I have attached the Scanjet 300 via a USB (in both USB2 and USB3 slots). I use Windows 10 Home Edition 64bit. Also, I have downloaded the recommended HP software (HP Scanning SJ300 ). When I try to scan via the HP software I get the mesage:
'The program could not find any available destinations to which scans can be sent' and recommends a reboot or a reinstall of the software - I've done both.
I can also get the message:
The HP Scanning software may not be able to scan to the default destination because some required software is not available or is not working correctly'.
The scanner scans if I go to Windows Control Panel, Devices and Printers, Scanjet Properties and will allow me to scan to a detination (I assume that this is a Windows program. However, the recommended HP software won't work and I can find no way to reset any software defaults. I have reinstalled the Scanjet 300 drivers several times so it seems as though it might be some associated HP software. Any ideas which software is missing or 'broken'?
Regards.

Your response is not adequate. What you just described only works once, but upon subsequent scans the desitation reverts back to the default. How do you permanently change the destinnation location so you don't always have to set it for each document?

I have the same question. How does one change the DEFAULT save-to location... not just for one scan. It's a simple thing but seems impossible to find which of the numerous HP apps, and a current description of the dialogue boxes/steps. Frustrating!
