Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you wan to clean the printhead on your HP DeskJet 3755 Printer. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
Use HP Utility to clean the ink cartridges from your Mac.
-
Load plain paper into the input tray.
-
Click the Apple
menu, and then click System Preferences.
-
Depending on your version of OS X, click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
-
In the Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners window, select your printer, and then click Options & Supplies.
-
Click Utility, and then click Open Printer Utility.
HP Utility opens.
-
Click Clean Printheads
, and then click Clean.
A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.
Figure : Print Quality Diagnostic page
-
Examine the Print Quality Diagnostic page.
-
If the print quality is acceptable, click Finish. You can stop troubleshooting.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, click Cleaning Level 2 to continue the next level of cleaning.
-
Let me know if that helps.
Cheers.

Thanks for the guide through cleaning the ink cartridges.
Turns out the old Mac I am using with os 10.7.5 does not give a utility menu for the 3755.
I had to go to a laptop running a later version of mac os to get a printer utility.
Working like a charm now.
