My printer was having trouble getting started with instant ink, so I was advised to order ink. I bought the ink and put it in the printer (the correct type - 304) and then my printer came up with the big error “E” and all of the lights are flashing, including the power button. The ink cartridges aren’t moving to the centre when I open the door either like it should. I’ve tried turning it off and on again, I’ve tried resetting with the on and cancel buttons, but every time it comes back on it is just doing the same thing. I can’t even connect to my laptop to do a factory reset because it’s coming up as offline and I can’t get into the page to reset it.

Hi @Francesca237777,
I'd like to help!
I understand all the lights on the printer are flashing.
Let's try a power reset on the printer
Reset the product
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
- Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
Try updating the printer's firmware -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware
Also, try the steps in the document-Blinking Lights
If the issue persists, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
