HP Envy 6100e is blank most of the time.  When I want to print something the lights stay off and I get,  "the printer ism available right now".

Hi @Jjkrol

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Envy 6100e is experiencing both a display issue and connectivity problems with your phone.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve these issues:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • This can help reset the printer and clear temporary glitches.

2. Check Sleep Mode Settings

  • The blank screen might be due to the printer entering sleep mode. Check the printer's settings via the HP Smart app or the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to adjust or disable sleep mode.

3. Update Firmware

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for and install the latest firmware updates for your printer. Firmware updates can resolve bugs and improve performance.

4. Reconnect to Wi-Fi

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
  • On the printer, go to Settings > Network Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard and reconnect to your Wi-Fi.

5. Use the HP Smart App

  • Download the HP Smart app on your phone and add your printer. The app can help diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.

6. Reset the Printer

  • If the issue persists, perform a factory reset:
    • Access the printer's settings menu and look for Restore Defaults or Reset Settings.
    • Reconfigure the printer after the reset.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
