WORST PRINTER EVER! I have use HP for years but this printer is causing me to question any new purchase. The Envy 7800 wireless printer worked great for a few months. Now when we try to print from either of our laptops it may print or it may say it's out of paper (which it never is) or it may say its in an error state. We turn everything off and then back on over and over. Sometimes it will work. I am too busy for this! I run five offices and I dont have time for printer chaos.
Suggestions?? or do I need a trip to Best Buy for another product??

Welcome to the HP Support Community
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Are you facing this issue after an update?
Is the copy working fine?
Let's update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-photo-7800-all-in-one-printer-series/9073159/document/c...
Restart the printer.
If the issue persists, I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-envy-photo-7800-all-in-one-printer-ser... to download and install the HP ENVY Photo 7800 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.
Try to print.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)

Our HP 7800 Envy is even worse; it cannot accept wireless connections from Windows 10 1903 or 1909. When you try, it OBLITERATES your existing wifi connections to the internet -- and the laptop itself must be restarted just to get back.
This is by far the WORST wireless all-in-one printer we have ever seen. We will NEVER buy another HP 7800.
My husband only managed to get it to work for us at all by connecting to it from another laptop that was not Windows 10 1903 (he kept it at 1893 on purpose -- just because of this). And he had to try that 5 times.
You made a horrible printer. You made my business day incredibly stressful.
We will NEVER buy another one of these.

A follow-up. We just reinstalled the so-called HP Smart software, the driver and the Printer app. We also supposedly "successfully" installed the printer.
My husband then tried to print a simple page from a browser. The HP Envy was in the list of printers. And it failed: "Printer constantly in an error state."
WORST PRINTER OF ALL TIME.
GOOD BYE, HP.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

I've lost count of the number of times I've called Support, had someone connect to my computer, do a bunch of stuff, and tell me "that should solve the problem permanently." Got a higher-level technician to help me a few weeks ago. I was pretty optimistic...but the problem resumed a week later.
VERY disappointed with this purchase. 😕
