1-800-474-6836 is the number I called first and had a technician do a video call support to perform some steps (typically reset and confirming its genuine cartridge), and later with help of one of our users sent message to @HPSupport in X (Twitter) same content copied and posted with my version of the printer.

Actually spoke with a support person and asked why I getting a new printer and not just getting a new 134X cartridge when my 134A works fine?  He said because the damage has been done and not reversible.   HP has instructed the support group to replace the printer.  Does not sound like you can download older firmware based on what he said, but I never tried it to find out if that is true.

They are absolutely right, firmware updated once into Printer isn't getting downgraded. I tried to push it by using USB Cable and removing Wi-Fi / network connection, yet it's still continuing to show new firmware that's pushed by HP over Internet.

I am just waiting for shipping instructions from HP now and dump this printer for recycle.

What if i don't use twitter, for contacting the HPSupport ?   Is there other way to contact a HP support staff?

My HP LaserJet MFP M140w was affected by the faulty firmware update, which has resulted in the original HP toner no longer being recognized. To make matters worse, older firmware cannot be reinstalled, effectively locking me out of using the printer as intended.

Most reports have focused on the LaserJet MFP M232-M237 models being affected, but I can confirm that the M140we is also impacted. After the firmware update, the product number was changed, and the country/region was inexplicably set to Ukraine. HP is also now erroneously capturing the model number as  HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw in my account.

HP’s technical support was entirely unhelpful—their only recommendation was that I should buy a new HP printer. Instead, I have purchased a Brother HL-L2480DW, and my HP printer is headed for the trash (though I’m tempted to take a hammer to it first). I will never purchase an HP product ever again.

Exact duplicate issue with mine, was printing a couple days ago fine. I printed on page, annd then moved to the next print job and it just stopped and threw up code 11. I have a new 30-days old genuine HP cartridge installed. Have tried all of the suggestions, various resets, cleaning, uninstalling, reinstalling, nothing gets rid of this code. HP NEEDS TO FIX THIS. I do not rent or lease my printer. I paid in full!  If they broke it with an update, then we should all get proper recourse!

I am doing this same thing and they are now asking for a credit card number. They want to charge me $1 and then if I dont return the bricked printer they will charge me full price. Yet they are refusing to answer if they will provide a pre paid shipping label. We should not have to pay to return the printer as for they did this and they are aware of it......are they asking yall for CC info?

HP Recommended

Yes, they asking for CC so I created virtual card with $2 and used it 😀 they are also sending return label.

Just spent an hour on the phone with HP tech support with no resolution! The only option I was given was to try a new toner cartridge, and that is not a guaranteed fix or BUY A NEW PRINTER. This is ridiculous that HP's error renders our printers obsolete after less than 2 years and we are on the hook for a new one.

Call 1-800-474-6836 ... It's probably a waste of time. HP has no plans to release a fix or roll back to previous version of the firmware.
