Hi @Sam-Pilipock,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand how concerning it is to see an error code like 0xB8053ADC on your HP printer, especially when it prints correctly after a reboot, but then reverts to the same error. Let’s walk through the best steps to resolve this.

What This Error Code Means

The error 0xB8053ADC is a firmware-level fault that may be related to:

  • A corrupted print job
  • A temporary memory issue
  • A firmware glitch
  • A hardware initialization problem

This type of error is not typically user-resolvable by basic resets alone, but HP provides a built-in tool that can help.

Recommended Fix: Use the Diagnose & Fix Tool

HP has developed a Diagnose & Fix utility built into the HP app for Windows and macOS. This tool can automatically detect and repair common printer errors, including firmware faults like the one you're seeing.

👉 Use Diagnose & Fix in the HP app to repair common printing issues (Windows, macOS) | HP® Support

Steps:

  1. Install or open the HP Smart app on your computer.
  2. Go to “Printer Settings” or “Support”.
  3. Select “Diagnose & Fix”.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the tool.

Additional Steps You Can Try

If the error persists after using Diagnose & Fix:

  • Remove and reinstall the printer from your device.
  • Update the printer firmware via HP Smart or the HP support site.
  • Disconnect from power for 2 minutes, then reconnect and power on.
  • Check for stuck print jobs in the queue and clear them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
