Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The hp x476dw displays an error code of 0xc6fd0028 and the touch screen locks up on start up, looking for a work around or fix please?

@Cumbria Lets start with power reset as per HP standards, here's how we recommend doing it:

  • Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
    • NOTE: 
    • HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

If the issue persists, please upgrade the printer firmware:

Hi Riddie,

Have already tried that and no joy, as already said in post touch screen locks up so I cannot get it to

1. Engineering mode

2. or Support menu

3. orMFG mode

4. or Audit mode

 

Could be the main PCA board?

One further question if it is the main PCA, what is the differance between boards marked with a C or D

@Cumbria If none of that's working, you may be right, this seems like a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

 

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

 

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

Unit is out of warranty and looking around there are plenty of failed units around!

 

So does anyone know if  a C board can be used instead of a D board or viice versa, see posts above.

@Cumbria If you have an HP authorized service center near by, you should be able to take it to them and have it checked,
