Not able to perform factory reset. Can’t advance past error message.

I was able to reset it with the Embedded Web Server by typing the IP address (found in the properties under the control panel). I was able to factory reset there.

I am having this same issue. Basically brand new printer. Installed new black toner and got the same error message.  Update: Factory reset to old firmware seemed to temporarily solve the issue.

How do we fix this

@Alex942, Have you tried the factory reset? That seems to work for some users. Keep in mind that even if the printer does not come to ready, it is often possible to access the EWS from your desktop computer.

How do I solve this issue?

How do I perform a factory restore to resolve this issue?

We called HP, in order to get to the factory reset option you must do the following:

Take all cartridges out of the machine, close door, turn power off then turn on. This should clear off the error message so you can do the factory reset option. Once you have done the factory reset and it is completed, put cartridges back in and you should be good to go!
