Deskjet 3755
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey, I just purchased an HP Deskjet 3755 All-in-One and got it set up and registered. It is connected to my network, but am having some issues.

1) The printer will only print jobs when connected to my computer by USB, even though I have it connected wirelessly.

2) PDF print jobs print EXTREMELY SLOWLY... over a minute for a page of text.

PLEASE do not just link me to support.hp.com pages... for some reason, these do not load on my computer (show up completely blank, even though the HP Support site is working and loads).

Thank you!!!

Hi anb9495,

For some printer installations, the default Paper Type in the HP print driver paper setting is incorrectly set to “HP Glossy Brochure or Profession Paper”, (instead of “Plain Paper”), which is causing the extremely slow printing problem.

The solution is to change the default Paper Type. Please perform the following steps:

  1. Click the Windows icon in the lower left-hand corner of the screen and select “Settings”.
  2. Select “Devices” in the Settings Menu.
  3. Scroll down the Devices screen and select “Devices and printers”.
  4. Double-click on the “HP DeskJet 3700 series” icon” in the Devices and Printers screen.
  5. Double-click “Set Preferences” in the HP DeskJet 3700 series screen.
  6. Select the Paper/Quality tab in the HP DeskJet 3700 series screen.
  7. In the Paper type dropdown, change the value from “HP Glossy Brochure or Professional Paper” to “Plain Paper”.
  8. Select “OK” and close the HP DeskJet 3700 series as well as the Devices and Printers screen.
  9. Print a single page of text and verify it prints in a reasonable amount of time, (approximately 23 seconds).
  10. If after changing the Paper type you still have a problem, you may need to uninstall and then reinstall the software:

Please let me know if this resolves your slow printing issue.

Kind regards,
