I occasionally help out with computer issues at the retirement community where I live being something of a geek. I ran across this problem I have never encountered. The printer was delivering offset characters, as if they had been printed twice, but ONLY in black ink. I assumed it was an alignment issue for the black cvartridge so I went through the alignment process, printed out the alignment page, but each time I got the message "failure to detect alignment page." I tried shutting off the printer and restarting, reseating the cartridge, and running alignment several times. Nothing seemed to work. Ideas? Note that the alignment page prints perfectly
