HP LaserJet M110we Printer

My printer's orange exclamation point is flashing and will not print.

 

All it says on the diagnostic page is the following:

"Printer Cannot Print: A problem has occurred and you will be unable to print, except for printer reports, until the issue is resolved. Check your HP account for more info."

 

I have tried ALL of the following to troubleshoot:

- Plugged directly into wall outlet

- Hard reboot by unplugging for 180 seconds and replugging

- Disconnected and reconnected from wireless

- Checked for paper jams - none

- Removed and replaced toner cartridge; it has about 50% supply left

- Ran the diagnose/fix on the HP Smart app; no problems found

- Updated the firmware 

- Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer on my Mac

- Reset the printing system on my Mac and then reinstalled the printer again

 

NONE of the above resolved the issue. I spent close to 2 hours chatting with HP support before they were disconnected on their end (with no response after reconnecting). HELP

It sounds like you've gone through quite a thorough troubleshooting process already. Since you've tried multiple solutions and the issue persists, it could be indicative of a hardware problem with the printer itself. Here are a few additional steps you can try.

 

  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve issues like this.
  • Inspect Printer Components: Carefully check inside the printer for any obstructions or foreign objects that might be causing the problem, even if there are no paper jams. Sometimes, tiny pieces of paper or debris can trigger error messages.
  • Reset Printer Settings: Try performing a factory reset on the printer to revert all settings back to their default configurations. This can sometimes clear out persistent issues.
  • Test with Another Device: If possible, try connecting the printer to another device, such as a different computer or a mobile device, to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the printer or with the connection to your Mac.
