Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

after switching on my printer stops when trying to print (for hrs) the alignment page and the control panel never gets ready.

I cannot use the control panel and there is no way to delete the procedure (even using the pc).

Seems to be similar to the problem in this post:

Any suggestions ?

Thanks.

@Ron160, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your computer.

Clean the scanner glass. Also, make sure there is enough ink in both the ink cartridges and clean the printhead.

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Setup icon .

  2. Press the button next to the arrow until Tools displays next to OK.

  3. Press the button next to OK to select Tools, and then press the button next to the arrow until Clean Printhead displays next to OK.

  4. Press the button next to OK to clean the printheads.

Now Align the printer

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Setup icon .

  2. Press the button next to the Down Arrow until Tools displays next to OK.

  3. Press the button next to OK to select Tools, and then press the button next to the Down Arrow until Align Printhead displays next to OK.

  4. Press the button next to OK to align the printhead. The printer aligns the printhead, and then prints an alignment page.

  5. Lift the scanner lid.

Hello Kumar0307,

thanks for the fast reply. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

When starting the printer I get the information in the display that the printer initialises, followed by printer prepares, followed by "printing alignment". This newer completes.

So I am not getting to the normal printer control panel.

Does this give you more information ?

Regards

@Ron160

It seems like the printer is getting stuck at the alignment process. If you have tried the steps and the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
