HP 5052 does not complete initialization process.
Looking for the instructions to reset my Envy 5052 printer which is not starting-up correctly. It gets stuck at two dots on the HP Logo Screen

Hi @Victor_VA,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reset your HP Envy 5052 printer when it gets stuck during the initialization process, follow these steps:
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer and plug it back into the wall outlet.
- Turn the printer back on and check if it completes the initialization process.
Perform a Semi-Full Reset:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- While holding down the power button, reconnect the power cord to the printer and then to the wall outlet.
- Release the power button after the printer turns on and displays the HP logo. This should trigger a semi-full reset.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- If your printer completes the initialization, check for firmware updates using the HP Smart app or the HP Support website.
- Download and install any available updates to ensure your printer has the latest fixes and improvements.
Reset the Printer via Control Panel (if accessible):
- On the printer control panel, go to Settings or Setup.
- Select Printer Maintenance or Tools.
- Choose Restore Factory Defaults or Reset All Settings.
- Confirm the reset and wait for the printer to restart.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Good morning Rachel,
I tried the "Power Cycle" and "Semi-Rest" suggestion to no avail. Still hangs up after two dots during initialization.
I am retired and can not afford to purchase another printer.
Please suggest another resolution.
Thank you.

Hi @Victor_VA,
Thank you for your response, I am here to help you. I have shared a few steps for the factory reset.
Restore original factory defaults and settings
If you disable some functions or change some settings and want to change them back, you can restore the
printer to the original factory settings or network settings.
To restore the printer to the original factory defaults
1. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, swipe left to see ( Setup ) and touch
( Setup ).
2. Touch Tools , touch Restore Factory Defaults, and then follow the onscreen instructions
If the issue still occurs it must be a hardware issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
