My printer was printing fine from my mac os 10.13 and then it just stopped printing. The print job shows up in the queue but will not print. It is not a printer problem because I can print from my old laptop which uses Windows and it printred fine. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer twice and everything goes okay until I get to the part where it says print a test page -- nothing happens. Please help. I just got this Mac Book pro and now I am so frustated that I cannot use my printer!

Going through your post, I understand that you are facing issues while printing with the MAC. Please try the steps below to try and fix the issue:
- Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
- Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
- Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
- Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
- Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
- Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
- Restart your computer and then go back to System preferences – Printers and scanners.
- Click the “Add button” (+).
- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.
- Click “Print Using...” or “Use”, and then select Secure AirPrint or AirPrint. Alternatively, you may select the name of your printer if available in that list.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Good luck 🙂

My MacBook Air also stopped printing to my Officejet Pro 8600 Plus after upgrading to OS X 10.13. The print file shows up in the printer but then sits forever and finally disappears and the printer never even comes on. I followed your directions to reset the print system. Now when I try to add the printer back, both the printer and fax show up in the list. I try to add the printer using AirPrint. It pops up a dialogue box stating it is setting up the printer, then pops up an error message "Unable to communicate with the printer". I cannot add the printer back.
