I appear to have the printhead issue on the 8620 that many have had. I followed the instructions in your post "How to solve printhead error for Officejet 8600 to 8660" but without succes. I bought a new printhead but I got the same error message (printhead missing, not detected or not correctly installed, Oxc19a0003). What I do not understand is that the printer still "sees" the inktlevels, so printheads must work partly. When I run HP Officejet Pro 8620 Toolbox / Printhead Health, it shows the colors but not the other printhead data like part number, serial number etc for the old and the new printhead. Is there a printhead-to printer connection problem? Please advise what to do. I bought another printer but my 8620 printer is superb and I would like to continue using the 8620. Thanks in advance, Sander

Hi @SanKab,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Printhead Error" on an HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer typically indicates an issue with the printhead or the printer's internal components. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the error.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can clear up temporary glitches. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check Printhead Contacts: Ensure that the contacts on the printhead and inside the printer are clean and free from debris. Gently wipe them with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab dipped in distilled water if necessary.
- Replace Printhead: Printheads can become damaged or worn over time. If cleaning the contacts doesn't resolve the issue, you might need to replace the printhead. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacing the printhead.
- Update Firmware/Drivers: Outdated firmware or drivers can sometimes cause errors. Visit the official HP website and make sure you have the latest firmware and drivers installed for your printer model.
- Perform a Hard Reset: A hard reset can often help resolve electronic glitches. To perform a hard reset, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and then press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Run Printer Diagnostics: Most modern printers come with diagnostic tools that can help identify issues. Check your printer's manual or visit the HP website for instructions on how to run diagnostics.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello Alden4,
No your post did not solve my problem. Please read my query again. You recent post is a repeat of the post "How to solve printhead error for Officejet 8600 to 8660". I had carried out all the possible tricks in this post but without succes. I bought a new print head but the same error message came up again. Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance, Sander
