Printing on Georgia Pacific "Premium Card Stock Paper" 110 lb, "perfect for use in ink jet" UPC 36500 09360. 110 lb is in the stock specs for this printer.
If the printer head is in the parked position, it gets the first page correct every time. If printing multiple pages, or additional single pages before the printer has parked the head, the follow-on page(s)/job(s) do not register correctly on the paper, skewing "early" on the page so that the top is outside the printed area on the stock. That registration "miss" varies from a fraction of an inch to almost two inches.
After having futzed around with this for a lot of wasted expensive card stock, ink, and time, I found the only way to get these pages printed correctly was one at a time, and with waiting long enough between jobs for the printer to "park" the head (or whatever it is that it does...) That worked correctly every time. 61 times for this task. Printing a page when the head had not been parked (or whatever it does after it sits idle for 20 or 30 seconds) resulted in these mis-registered pages almost every time.
I tried "quiet" mode, various paper type settings, cleaning all the rubber rollers I could find, drying some of the card stock in the oven, flipping the stock upside down in the tray, fanning it, lots in the tray, one in the tray, a brand new package, of the same stock, fresh from the environmentally controlled store--I had to make a trip to WalMart since I was out of the stock due to the bunch of mis-printed sheets now in the recycle pile--etc. Still, subesquent pages with the head not parked were likely (maybe 9 times out of ten?) to misregister.
Plain paper, 24 lb, prints the same pages correctly at full speed.
Verry unhappy. Any suggestions welcome!

Greetings and Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Appreciate you trying the steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help!
Step 1 Clean the Rollers -
Refer to step# 3 from this document for instructions.
Step 2 Update the printer's firmware -
Refer to this document for steps.
Also, check the print settings -
1) In the software application, you are trying to print from, click File, and then click Print.
2) Open the Properties dialog box.
Depending on the software application, the button might be Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences.
3) Depending on your print job, you might consider modifying the following settings:
Paper Type: If you are printing on photo paper, select the type of photo paper you are attempting to print on.
Print Quality: If you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, increase the print quality. To print more quickly, decrease print quality. These options typically include Best, Normal, and Draft modes.
Paper Size: If you are printing on a different size of paper than you normally print on, select the correct paper size.
Black and White: If you want to print in black and white only, select the grayscale option.
4) After selecting the print settings, click OK to apply the settings, and then click Print.
Hope this helps!
Let me know how that goes.

As noted in original posting, I'd already cleaned rollers and tried multiple paper types in Printer and App Print Settings. As to the clean rollers document, this is not a paper jam situation and the printer has never complained of a jam or other error; it just doesn't register the output correctly on the extra pages past the first one from the printer idle state.
I should have noted that the printer has the most recent firmware available.
I printed a verysimilar set of pages on the same stock last year, different firmware, without problems. The only thing different this year int he document is that there is notw something printed in the very upper left hand corner. I'm wondering if that's causing some kind of momentary interference problem between the head assembly and the upper left corner of the stock.
