HP Deskjet 2540 All in One
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I bought my printer a while ago and set it up so I could print wirelessly from my Mac. The other day I had to print a few PDF documents and it printed the first one but the other two never printed. In the queue, it says "ready to print" and the two wireless buttons on the printer are lit up. It also won't print when I connect it to the USB. But when I print the test page, that printed just fine.

Hey @bess-stanton1,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that you are having some issues with printing from your Mac OSX 10.11 machine to your Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. Remove the USB cable if it is connected.
  2. Turn the printer off.
  3. While the printer is powered off, remove the power cable from the back of the router.
  4. When the lights return on the router, turn the printer on.
  5. Close all programs you have open.
  6. On your Mac click on your Apple icon, System Preferences, and Printers and Scanners.
  7. Hold down the control key and click on an icon of your printer on the left.
  8. Click on Reset Printing System.
  9. Click on the plus icon in the bottom-left corner.
  10. Select your printer from the list.
  11. Click in the box next to Use and select your printer from this list.
  12. Click on Add.

Please let me know if you can print after following the above. If you can, please click on Accept Solution. if you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.
