HP Deskjet 3050 - Unable to connect to WPA secured wireless network

I had similar problems. HP 3050, Dell notebook, Win7 64bit.

First install was fine, seemed to be working on wifi very well, but when I turn the printer off and on, blue led is blinking, and printer cannot connect to the network (has no IP either). If I reconfigure wireless settings with some HP software, it works again but loses connection after I turn it off and on.

I printed the network diagnostics pages manually and it passed wireless radio, SSID, etc. but failed at the line "Security". So I searched on Google, that's how I got here. I tried to do exactly what hussein_patwa wrote but after saving printer settings, it loses connection and led starts blinking. Reboot, still blinking.

That's where it becomes interesting: I tried to print dignostics again, and on the first page it says no IP address, then blinking stops (during printing) and then I get PASS everywhere, printer works again on wifi. After I turn it off and on, led is blinking, cannot connect. After printing diagnostics again, it reconnects again. Very annoying!

Any ideas, someone?

I'd say just leave the printer on.  Its sleep state and "off" state consume virtually the same power.

Well, that probably works but only until we have a power outage or we have to reboot our router.

Very strange problem, haven't found anything to solve it yet.

This could easily be a router issue.  What router are you using?

I agree that it has to do something with the router, as the printer can easily connect to the network if I disable wireless security in router settings. Unfortunately I cannot leave it like that, I live in a house with 30 flats (and lot of neighbours).

The device is a TP-LINK WR841 router, and all of the devices in the flat (3 notebooks, 3 smartphones and a smart TV) can easily connect to the wireless network with WPA2 security on.

I even tried to change WPA2 security to WPA, tried different SSIDs and passwords but no change. The problem first occured with dynamic DHCP settings but I also tried to give a fix IP to the printer (some high number to avoid collisions), still not working properly.

Do you have another router to try?  I am thinking the TP-Link is the issue.

Unfortunately no, and I don't wish to buy a new one just to try, especially as all other devices work perfectly.

I'll try to do a firmware update on both the printer and router and if it doesn't solve it, I'll just leave the printer on for ever. Not too much extra expense, although I was a bit surprised to realize that my HP 3050's power consumption in stand-by mode is 4 times higher than that of my 40 inch Samsung LED TV (1.2Watt vs. 0.3Watt).
