ENVY 4512
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello.

I am having a problem with my printer. For some annoying reason, my ENVY 4512 printer now prints higher than usual. Example: I print a everyday document with border and then, I print out the Word document. A few seconds later... the print comes out with the top border cut off, and a huge blank space on the bottom below the border. I checked everything. Paper size, paper type, aligned the printer, restarted the printer... everything probably I could do. A test the print again, and nothing at all has changed.

More specifications:

  • 6th gen Intel Core i7 processor
  • Wi-Fi connection to the printer
  • Printer is right next to my computer
  • Internet connection completely fine
  • Power normal
  • Word 2016
  • Letter paper
  • HP Genuine Ink

Thanks for getting back to me @Nethersuperstar.

Did you try the generic driver and have the same result?

It may be an issue with the User Accounts, please try the following to see if it will help.

From the Control Panel, go to User Accounts, Change User Account Settings, then drag the slider down to never notify, then restart the computer and try printing again from Word again.

Thanks!

Good day @Nethersuperstar,

This is a great place to visit for Community and HP support! I would really like to be able to help you with the print being cut off the page.

Are you having this issue with all applications or just Word?

When you do a Print Preview, is it cut off?

If this issue is happening from all applications, it would most likely be a hardware issue. I would suggest trying Step 3, Step 4, and Step 5 of this document: Paper Jam Error. Disregard the title.

I have provided the steps for updating the current driver installed to a Windows preinstalled driver to see if it isn't a hardware issue.

  • From the Desktop, hold down the Windows button and X. This will bring up a list, open Control Panel and then Devices and Printers.
  • Right click the printer and then click Printer Properties.
  • Click the Advanced tab.
  • Click New Driver.
  • When the new driver window opens up select Next.
  • Select the HP Envy PCL Class driver and select Next.
  • Apply the settings.

You can always go back and select the original driver.

Try printing from another application.

If the issue is resolved, your welcome to show your appreciation
by clicking the "Accept as Solution" and the "Thumbs Up". Let me
know how you make out. Thank you.

1. It's just Word.

2. During Print Preview, I see that the page is totally fine, just like how I wrote the document.

3. Paper is not jammed, I pulled the paper out and reloaded the paper, just to check.

I restarted both the devices and it worked! (I don't usually restart my computer) Thanks so much!
