I have been using my HP Envy for a few months now and I have also seen other reports of the same issue, the printer will not give me a full page of colour printing on glossy paper - it is hit and miss too. I have wasted so much paper I get the tail end of the printing only .
The printer will start printing then when the paper finially pops out its as if the roller has not picked p the front of the page only at the end so I get half of my selected print. I am very annoyed as I have wasted so much expensive paper tyrying to get this to work.
I would actully like to throw my printer out the window - none of the advice you have porvided has worked - it does not matter which side the paper is printed on - it fails more often than not.
Any help please???
I have installed all of the drivers and all of the software is up to date.

Hi! @sparboo, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
I understand your printer will not print glossy photo paper correctly on your printer.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried checking with a different brand paper?
Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge?
Have you tried printing from a different application? Does the issue persist?
Are you printing from a browser?
As you mentioned when you print on a glossy photo paper colors on the photo is missing.
Try the steps recommended below.
There is one setting in the driver which you can check. It's called Preserve Layout. Make sure that it is set to Yes.
You can find this setting here: Start>Devices and Printers>Your printer driver>
Right click and go to Printer Preferences>Advanced
If the copy works fine try uninstalling the printer drivers from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software on your PC and check if it helps.
In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Link to install full feature printer software.
Refer this article to further troubleshoot print quality issues.

I am not sure you are understanding my issue ....
It prints but the paper is not being picked up corrcetly. The printer picks the paper then it seems to slide around or not feed properly. I have all of the correct settings on the printer and the software - it makes no difference if its copying or printing.
It is hit and miss too sometimes it works (once in a while) then the next time it won't.
I tried primting on a different printer with the same paper it and it was fine. I think there is an issue with this actual printer I see others have had the same issue.
Thanks
Faye

I read this post. Thanks for replying. It is splendid to hear from you again. Your patience and time are greatly appreciated. You've displayed magnificent commitment, immense patience coupled with sound technical skills to try and resolve the issue. Kudos to you for a job well done. 🙂 As @iMrRobot is out for the day, I am taking over from here.
Please check the printer's product specifications link: http://hp.care/2CmlaBm and check if the paper being used is compatible with the paper specifications of the printer. Look under the option "Paper-handling specifications"
If it is not supported, then use only the supported paper that is compatible with the computer.and this should do the trick. If the issue continues, then try with a different brand of paper. Then check for issue resolution.
If it still continues, then update the printer's firmware from this link: http://hp.care/2rHKwDD and follow the instructions from there,
If it still persists, then Please contact HP phone support for real-time assistance in this regard as a one to one interaction with them will keep you in good stead. I am being honest about it by keeping your best interest in mind.
It could be hardware related.
HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://hp.care/2moMFSc
(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.
