Hi,

It is probably quite a basic question but having just purchased my new HP printer I wanted to double check how you reconceal the automatic paper support arm that pops out when you print?

Do I just push it in when I'm finished or is there a feature or button to press to do this?

I just don't want to damage the mechanism by forcing it and cannot find any info on the manual or online guide

Thanks

Nick

Hi @N7ELLIOTT,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I noticed that you're concerned that you will damage the tray extender on your HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer. I would be happy to help you and please remember to return to this thread and mark 'Accept as Solution', if I have successfully helped you resolve the issue. If you wish to say 'thanks' for my effort to help, click the 'thumbs up' to give me a Kudos.

The output tray extends automatically but does not retract automatically. If you do not wish to have the tray extended, push it back in when you're finished. 🙂
