HP ENVY 5660 and OS X wireless print options

I'm considering the purchase of a 5660 printer for use in a home wireless network with Apple Mac machines running OS X Yosemite.  However, something I read in the 5660 user manual scares me.  It contains several Notes about print options that are available for USB connected Mac machines, such as print quality and page orientation.  Is it true that some HP print options are only available on Macs connected with USB and not on wireless?

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! 🙂 That is a great question and one I can answer for you, as long as your Operating System is compatible with the Envy 5660 and there are full feature software and drivers you will have all available options whether USB or Wireless.

The only time you would not be given all options and features of the Envy 5660 is if there are no compatible full feature software and drivers for the product.

Albeit an older query, I can't stand the lack of response by some.  Yes you can use this wirelessly without a USB port on the device.  It will automatically download the most recent software while installing by accessing 123.HP.com.  It wirelessly finds your modem and your computer/device while downloading and installing.  A USB would be usefull for a wired connection, but this is a wireless printer. 

It's a good printer for documents and photos.  Easy to use and mine has been working great (for 3 months).
