I have a new HP4500e printer and am trying to get a wireless connection.  The Printer immediately detects the router and show it's name on the screen.  I select it and then it asks:  WPA/WEP?  There is no information like this listed on the router ID.  Any ideas?? T^here is nothing in the instruction booklet that addresses this issue.

d the net work but it is asking for WPA/WEP code and I do not know what it is. Please help

My wireless network name has a space and I see nowhere on the keyboard screens for a space. Is there a symbol for space? Also, I do not know what WPA means.

Have no idea what my WPA/WEP

should be

The installation instruction for HP ENVY 500 is very poorly. No clear explanation of WPA/WEP is one of them.

My new printer will not change from alphabetical to numerical so that I can enter my WPA/WEP, even when I get an indication that it should change.  What is the secret to get it to change from alphabetical to numberical?

How do I get my HP 4500 back on line... enter the wireless network key from my model and said it couldn't find the network... ?  and then one time wpa/wep came up .... What is that?

Thanks for the help.

I am actually re setting up my printer after changing providers but I also need to know how to change from Alpha to Numeric.  It works automatically when I am using the fax mode.  Help!

I just set up my e4500.   The WPA/WPE is your network password.  To switch to numeric, press the lowest button on the left hand side of the little screen on the printer.  It looks like a big dash.  To delete a character, press the reverse arrow which is just above the big dash.  Agreed, the printed directions are not helpful on these points, and I just stumbled into the solutions.

I am assuming that wpa/wep means my wifi password.  Nowhere in the booklet is this explained.  The printer is not accepting my password although it shows my router Linkseys.
