My printer is an office jet 4365.  The little slash button does absolutely nothing .  Not sure you need to or can switch to numeric as it shows  both when entering.  Does the printer need to  be hooked up to my router?

have a new HP Envy 4500 printer and am trying to get a wireless connection. The Printer immediately detects the router and show it's name on the screen. I select it and then it asks: WPA/WEP.

It is asking for your wifi password.  It's the same one you use to go online with any other device (PC, tablet, phone, etc.)

We have no possible way of telling you what your wifi password is!

(WPA/WEP are two of the several "encryption" methods used by routers to keep hackers at bay.  WEP is the oldest of the two, and WPA2 is commonly used today.)

Your WPA key/paraphrase is located in your router of which only you have control of. It is the same as when you connect your computer to your routers SSID. You will have to access your router internal settings via the web gui and check under the wireless tab for your password.

It is possible that your password will be on a label on the bottom of your router.

I'm with Virgin so I'm not sure this will help but on my hub it's the passphrase. hope you have worked it out by now though

Thanks for reaching out to the forums.

I understand that you are having issues with the wireless connection.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

Let's try to connect the printer by the following method:

1. Press the Wireless button from the printer control panel, and then select Settings.

2. Scroll to select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press OK.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the wireless connection.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers, Have a nice day.
