HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer

When i print a multipage document on double sided, the pages look correct in the preview but when I print them the first page is correct, but the following pages (including the second side of the first page) are narrow with the image not the same width as the first page.  It is driving me nuts.  I have reprinted with a different setting but the same thing happens.  I am using up all my copies on my smart-ink and having to pay extra just to print a 6 sided document.

Does anyone else have this problem and any advice.  I try using a specific setting (letter) then I tried letting the printer decide (and it selected a4 21 x 27.9).  If I try again with a different setting it will cost me a load more copies on smart ink,

Hi @snooziep,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you’re experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Envy 600 printer where the first page of a multi-page document prints correctly, but subsequent pages are narrower than expected. This can be caused by several factors including incorrect settings, driver issues, or paper size mismatches. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

**1. Check Print Settings

**1. Verify Paper Size Settings:

  • Printer Settings:
    • Ensure that the paper size settings in your printer driver match the actual paper size loaded in the printer. For example, if you're using letter-sized paper, make sure that both the printer and the document settings are set to letter size.
  • Document Settings:
    • Confirm that the document settings in the application you're using (e.g., Word, Adobe Acrobat) match the paper size.

**2. Check Page Scaling:

  • Scaling Options:
    • Make sure that scaling options like "Fit to Page" or "Shrink to Fit" are not causing the issue. These settings can sometimes alter the dimensions of the printed page.

**3. Select the Correct Print Layout:

  • Double-Sided Printing:
    • For double-sided printing, ensure you are selecting the correct layout options (e.g., "Print on Both Sides" or "Duplex Printing"). Sometimes incorrect layout options can lead to page size inconsistencies.

**2. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

**1. Check for Driver Updates:

  • Visit HP’s Website:
    • Go to the HP Support website and search for your HP Envy 600 model.
    • Download and install the latest drivers and software available for your operating system.

**2. Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Remove and Reinstall:
    • Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer and reinstall them using the latest version from HP’s website.

**3. Adjust Printer Settings Directly on the Printer

**1. Access Printer Menu:

  • Navigate Menus:
    • Use the printer’s control panel to navigate to the setup or settings menu.
    • Look for options related to paper size and type, and ensure they match your document and paper.

**4. Check for Firmware Updates

**1. Update Firmware:

  • Download Firmware:
    • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Envy 600 printer. Firmware updates can address bugs and improve printer functionality.
    • Follow the instructions provided on HP’s website to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
