HP ENVY 6052
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an Envy 6052 printer and will not print without me restarting it first every time. I checked, and it's connected to the same network as my computer, but it says it's offline. The blue light is steady, so even the printer seems to think it's connected to the wifi, but it's not. Even if I restarted it just a few hours ago, I have to do so again to get it to connect to my computer and print. Nothing to do with my router or wifi. Once the printer restarts, it hops right onto the network and will print with no issues. I have the same issue on two laptops on the same network. I checked the FW and is up to date. I deleted the HP Smart software and re-installed but did not fix the issue. Not sure why printing has become so difficult these days but may be an issue with the HW itself.

There was another thread about this but did not include a solution: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/HP-Envy-6000-always-needs-t...

I checked on HP Support site and it provided the below instructions but need to do this every time I need to print:

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
    NOTE:
HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
  5. Wait for the light bar to turn blue-white or white.
  6. Update the printer firmware. For more information, go to Updating or Upgrading the Printer Firmware.

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? I only buy HP printers and have been doing so for over 15years, don't want to switch now to another brand.. Thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's restore the network settings on the Printer: On the back of the printer, press and hold the Wireless button for at least three seconds.

Once done, connect the Printer to the Wi-Fi and see if all works ok.

Let me know if this helps.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution and Kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thanks!

Have a great day!
