Printer was working fine.  Suddenly, went to make a copy and the scanner kept going back and forth repeatedly, with E5 flashing. Reset printer, unplugged, plugged back in, scanner continued to go crazy back and forth.  Finally stopped but now printer is flashing E5 no matter what and won't scan only can send print job.  ANyone else have this issue?? Printer is barely 6 months old. Not heavily used!

Hi,

En E5 error represents a scanner problem, following your taken steps I would say that your printer requires servicing.

 

Go to Contact HP Customer Support to schedule a product repair or replacement. If you are in Asia Pacific, you will be directed to a local service center in your area, as described by below support document:
