G'mornin!
I am having an issue with my printer. I'm fairly sure the issue lies more within myself, but still. I've been trying to print out some photos using the HP Smart app (on my computer). I select the sizes for the photos to be printed (4x6) and that it's "HP Photo Paper" but it's still trying to print on regular sized printer paper. I have changed every size to 4x6" but still, no luck. The picture will print out that size but my printer isn't pulling up the actual photo paper. I've even tried taking out the regular printer paper but it only tells me that I'm out of paper. 😞
Any ideas? I'd really love to get these pics printed out and I'm a bit out of sorts with my progress.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand you need help with the paper settings on your printer,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Have you attempted to upgrade the printer firmware to resolve the issue?
Did you reinstall the printing app? (please do, if you haven't doe it yet)
While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:
Use this link for details on how to successfully update the printer firmware: https://hp.care/2CLF9Zo
And if the issue persists, try the below steps:
On the HP Smart app home screen, click a tile to print or scan an item from your printer, or scan images with your Windows 10 device's camera.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)
Keep me posted,
For I shall follow-up on this case to ensure the concern has been addressed,
And your device is up and running again,
that said, If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
