Last two months my MFP M28-M31 started work with a huge delay between pressing the print button and printing (up to several minutes). The reboot doesn't work. The cable is the same. What should I do to solve it?

Hi @AM_Cypr,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing slow performance issues with your HP LaserJet MFP M28-M31 Printer.

I suggest that you follow the steps listed below to update the firmware from HP Smart App.

1. Go to 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS, iPad OS), or HP Smart - Microsoft Store (Windows), or HP Smart - Mac App Store (Mac) (if not installed).

2. After completing the printer setup, click or tap on the printer’s name.

NOTE: Menu names, locations, and available settings vary by printer model.

3. Under Advanced, select Printer Home Page (EWS) or Advanced Settings.

4. Click or tap Tools or Web Services.

5. Click or tap Printer Updates or Product Update, and then click or tap Check Now.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day ahead.

We see this often with Windows 11 and the most common cause is Windows replacing the HP driver with  Microsoft IPP driver. On your computer go to control panel then right click on the devices and printers icon and select open from the drop down menu. Next right click on the icon for your printer and select printer properties from the drop down menu. Click on the Advanced tab to see what driver is being used. If not the HP driver, click the down arrow next to the driver to display what other drivers are available and select the correct HP driver.

Hi, and thank you for the proposal. It looks like I use the HP driver or, at least, It's named similarly to the original. The problem appeared just two months ago. Previously ( And It's my second MFP 28-31) everything was as it supposed to be.

Any more ideas?

Next thing to check would be the type of port being used. From the screen you posted, click on the port tab. Printers often get configured with a WSD port if being network attached. I have never had good success with the WSD ports and suggest that you configure a standard TCP/IP port instead of a WSD.

I have USB port as a main for this printer. I removed and installed it two times and it still works with a huge delay.
