Hi BCA226,

Have you tried removing the ink cartridges using the following steps?

  1. Open the ink cartridge door.

    1: Open the front door

  2. Push the ink cartridge inward to unlock it.

2: Push in the installed cartridge to unlock

  3. Grasp the edge of the old ink cartridge and then pull the cartridge straight out to remove it.

3: Remove the old print cartridge

Let me know if this does not work and we will continue to troubleshoot the issue. Thanks!

Jesyka 🙂

The answer did not help with the problem because the cartridges were stuck in a place where you could not pop them out.

What helped was turning the printer off, unplugging it for a fair amount of time, then restarting....

The problem has occurred 2x since my original post but it seems rebooting is the only way to get things going again.

Hello BCA226,

It seem like the print bar is stuck in the down position. When the print bar is in the down position, you will not be able to access the cartridges.

Could you refer to the below guide to retrieve the cartridges?

My ink cartridge seems to be stuck between down & up.  I tried all of the suggestions and even tried prying the cartridges up with scissors but to no avail. I was warned not to unplug it by a laser shop, but it seems like it has worked for others. Is it ok to unplug it? I have turned it off and on a number of times. I just got the cartridges to go down, but can't get them back up.  Please help!  (:  Thank you.

I tried doing what the video suggested to retrieve the cartridge my manually pulling up the full cartridge box but it is very strong and does not come up. I am afraid if I try too hard I might break it. Are there any other recommendations?

I also tried unplugging power cord, restarting, and unplugging power cord during opening cartridge door while the cartridge moving sound comes and it still does not work or allow me to pull up the full cartridge base.

I watched the below video.
