HP Officejet 4500 G510g-m
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've had this printer for a couple years, this is the first I've have this trouble. I did look around the forum for this particular printer having this problem, but didn't find what I was looking for.

I changed the ink on my printer today, i bought the proper replacement cartridge (officejet 901 tri-color, by HP) but the magenta isn't printing on anything. Colors are only cyan/blues and yellows. I have run the cleaning programs and checked the ink levels. The printer says everything is running fine, I have no error messages.

It may be that I'll have to get new printer ink(again), but I wanted to post here first, and see if there was a possible reason for it, and if there was another solution before I needed to buy more ink.

Thank you in advance,

-Kay

Greetings @kaymorgen

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing a print quality issue with your printer even after replacing the cartridge.

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you able to make a color copy on the printer?

Are you using genuine HP ink?

How is the printer connected to your computer? USB or wireless.

Recommend you try the steps suggested in this HP Article and let me know how it goes.

Also, perform an alignment on the printer and check. Click here for assistance with alignment related issues.

Keep me posted.
