Hi,
Thanks for writing the whole process.
Pls let us know if this fixed the issue permanently.
Yes, it looks as a firmware issue, however i haven't found any roll-back process...
I totally agree with one of the collegaues saying, if this is the support from HP, I rather change to EPSON form now on:(
Thx,

Hi Greguza, all,
The semi-full reset seems to have fixed this issue for me. Walked back into an office with a working, non blue screen printer.
Hopefully it can work for others here too.
Otherwise, I was prepared to do a reset back to factory settings (accessible through the settings menu), then leave as is if working, or look at downloading/uploading each firmware issue in sequence but not the latest one.
Good luck all

Soooooo....with so many people having the exact problem at the same time, is HP going to let us all know what the heck is going on?? It's a waste of time to constantly having to shut it down and restart it!!

The most incredible thing to me is that ever since I created this thread it has been by far the most active every day on the forum, however the HP mods / agents have deliberately chosen to completely ignore us. Not a single response. Not even a generic canned response.
They have obviously been instructed not to interact with this thread. The question is why?
Even if they weren't sure of the problem yet but they were working on it you would think someone would let us know they are working on it. It seems to me that they know exactly whats wrong, but don't have an easy way to fix it. If they ignore us long enough maybe we will all just go away.

If I find out that this is a planned obsolescence plot by HP to get people to buy a new printer, I think it is unethical and despicable. My household has several HP devices, because up to now they have been among the best products, but if they get into planned obsolescence, I will never buy another HP product and will recommend that others do not either. I would not want to business with a company that shows that much contempt for customers. I really hope that planned obsolescence is not what's going on, because until this happened my experience with HP has been pretty good.

Ugh, I just purchased $200 worth of ink and it's the first week of school here. I need to print. I am resetting every single time I have to print. This issue needs to be fixed.
I haven't tried a full factory reset....yet. would prefer that HP fix their problem.

Disconnect any other cables if connected to the printer. Press and hold the printer's power button for 15 seconds. The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself.
Hope This Works,
Peter
