I began experiencing same issue last week. Please send me instructions to correct. Thank you.
Wasn't able to use the fix DznyFan posted above because I do not have a control panel option for Support Menu. I found no Reset Menu or reset options among the other choices (e.g., Copy, Setup, Applications) visible on my control panel.
Have not been able to fix using repairs via HP Print and Scan Doctor, HP Support Assistant. Nor has updating firmware from HP.com eliminated problem either. Have not found repair steps elsewhere online. Unplugging power cord from printer and outlet, waiting 60 seconds, and reconnecting is a temporary fix. Cannot power down when error code presents, but this disconnect/reconnect procedure does not trigger improper shutdown message.
Would appreciate an HP agent private messaging me instructions specific for my printer. That appears to be the best option for fixing. Thank you.
