And you set a TCP/IP port up like it says?

Ah!  Yes I had to look into the page you referenced there.to see what you are talking about.

What I see now is WSD port that is pointing to the printer.  I should also mention that visiting the URL works with no problems as well.

Are you saying we have to remove this one and go with the TCP/IP?  Is there a HP-based resource that recommends and demonstrates this for the 8620?

HP Recommended

Add a TCP/IP port for your static IP in the printer for all computers.

The video shows you how to do this along with the link.

Right, I understand that.  I am looking for an HP-sponsored/specific resource that demonstrates and recommends this for the 8620.  The concern here is that this seems like a step back from the current port type, which is a web services port, if I am not mistaken?  Does that mean the computers will no longer be able to access the web services functionality?

Additionally, the TCP/IP port is used to connect to specific IP address.  In this case, the connection has already been made and the IP address is not changing.  So I guess in addition to my concern of degrading functionality, I am interested in knowing and understanding about what precisely there is about the TCP/IP port configuration as opposed to the WSD port configuration that will solve the problem that we are experiencing here.

Look all you want.  This is recommended for ALL printers.  If you don't wan't to do it, we are done here.

LOL well OK then, sounds like that is a "no" for an HP-qualified resource that recommends and demonstrates this for the 8620 in lieu of the WSD port.

You do realize this is a peer to peer forum only right?
