I received the following Printer Failure Message: "There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on, if problem persists, contact HP." I tried this multiple times, but just kept getting the same message. There was no error code provided in the message.
As I just wanted to perform "clean printhead" after cyan was getting worse (full cartridge) it ended with error.
I tried all other steps finding on hp helpdesk. Nothing helps. New printhead is not an option.
Please help.

Hi @deepearth,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, but let's go through a few more possibilities.
- Restart Printer: Sometimes, turning off the printer and unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes can help reset the system. After a few minutes, plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Check Ink Cartridges: Ensure that all ink cartridges are properly installed and have enough ink. Sometimes, even if one cartridge is low on ink, it can cause errors.
- Clean Contacts: Remove the ink cartridges and clean the electrical contacts gently with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Make sure they are completely dry before reinserting them.
- Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve various issues.
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if the error message doesn't mention it, a paper jam could be causing the problem. Open all doors and trays to check for any stuck paper or debris.
- Reset Printer: There might be a specific reset procedure for your printer model. This could involve pressing certain buttons in a particular sequence. Check the user manual or HP's website for instructions.
If none of these steps resolve the issue and you're unable to replace the printhead, it might unfortunately indicate a more serious hardware problem with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Alden4,
thank you for your response. Unfortunately none of your possibilities solved the problem.
As I remember, it started with getting low quality of a certain color, although the cardridge was nearly new. So I started clean print head function.
Most annoying thing is the hp-philosophy "one ink is not working --> whole system (espacially scan functionality) is stopped"
