I've recently gotten a new Macbook Pro with OS 10.12.4 (Sierra), and have downloaded the latest HP "Easy Start" to install the latest printer software and drivers. However, when printing a .pdf document, that is in color, I am unable to print it in Black & White (or grayscale), even though I select that in my printing options. It seems like I can select grayscale and the printer will print it in black & white, when printing other color documents (such as a Word document that has color). Is this a bug in Sierra or in the 8630 printer driver? I used to be able to print a color .pdf document, in grayscale or Black & White, before obtaining this new Macbook Pro with OS 10.12.4. (My previous computer, that I could do this on, was an old 2009 Macbook (white case) running Mountain Lion OS. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Can you check if there are updates on the PDF software or use another PDF (PDF reader or Acrobat Reader) and attempt to print?
Thanks.

Thanks for your help. It did look like I had an old Adobe Reader. I just downloaded and installed the latest "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC" product. But, I'm still having the same problem. Any other ideas? Would it require turning printer off and then on, again?

I finally got it to work. There's a new option in the print dialog box in the pdf application (working with the new "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC" that I just installed, that I didn't see before, that gives the option to "Print in grayscale (black and white)." Before using this product, I could select grayscale printing from the "Printer" button at the bottom of the print dialog box, and then make those selections there. But, selecting grayscale there won't override the "Print in grayscale (black and white)" option at the top of the print dialog box, if grayscale is not selected there.
It may just take a little getting used to how this new Adobe Reader version works, but looks like I needed it. My new OS 10.12 (Sierra) probably just didn't work with the old Adobe Reader, the way Mountain Lion did.
Thanks for the suggestion and help!
