That‘s what I‘m assuming: Firware-bug!

When using th scan-function (Scan to network folder) the printer hangs durimg shutdown. When only using the printing function, normal shutdown is possible. Never use the scanning funtion or the printer will hang instead of shuttimg down!

Noting that the most recently release firmware update WEBPDLPP1N001.1834A.00 HAS NOT fixed this issue.

Correct!

Firmware:  "WEBPDLPP1N001.1834A.00" with build date: 2018-08-21

DOES NOT fix the "Shutdown-Problem" after using the "Scan(to Network folder" function.

Problem still exists!

Please don't waste my time and that of other HP customers who are coming here for a solution with PMs. Please either make your suggestion in public or not at all.

Add me to the list of users experiencing this problem after installing the recent firmware update.

I have spoken to the phone support folks who have had me try the same resets after taking power off the surge protector and going directly to a wall outlet.

After 4 more days of unplugging the printer to power it down, I just talked to phone support again and was advised that my power switch was probably bad.

I also was told there is no going back, at least from HP support, to the prior firmware version.

It's a firmware issue plain and simply and nothing to do with hardware or switches. HP support on these forums is mostly atrocious & I refuse to respond to PMs because they just waste my time. I'm left wondering if most of the support agents here have even seen the HP printers they are supposed to be supporting.

Quite disappointed that HP has not resolved this important issue. Shame on HP. I have owned over qt HP printers s has never happened. hHP ouldmput the necessary resources into a solution ASAP. This is not fair that HP is not addressing a fix. I have experienced this issue for almost w months, above and beyond what I expect from HP.
