Hello RolloM,
It appears from our private conversation that you were able to upgrade, but I haven't heard from you regarding the status. I will assume that you no longer have the issue.
Thank you

Sorry for not coming back yet. I wanted to test the new software first. But indeed it looks now like the problem is solved in the new version. Never happened again since the upgrade.
Thanks for your help!

Hi TalalPWS
I've got the same issue on the HP PageWide Pro MFP 477 dw (with fax). I've the below firmware version installed.
MAVEDWPP1N001.1629F.00
The printer is connected to a wireless network and it gets its IP address dynamically from the boardband router using DHCP.
The basic issue that I've noticed is that the printer keeps losing its network connectivity while in power saving mode. I was constantly pinging the printer and I observed that the ping packets dropped all of a sudden and then started getting received. Then the ping started again.
Once its network connectivity came back up, I sent a print job and it got served.
This problem still seems to live.

Hi!
We have some similiar issue with our HP PageWide Pro MFP 477 dw, the firmware version is 1708D, the printer is wired connected to our network and has a staitc IP from the DHCP server.
The issues we are experiencing are:
- Some workstations cannot print from word (this we believe could be SO or app problem) but can with a pdf app. This users after running HP print and scan doctor can print very well, but after some time the issue starts again.
- Other workstations loss connection to printer and have to restart it in order to print o scan (this happends few times a day).
Right now I'm trying using standar tcp/ip port, I will let you know if this work out.
We hope you can help us to solve this.
Regards!.

I can add to this one.. We have almost same setup as:
"We have some similiar issue with our HP PageWide Pro MFP 477 dw, the firmware version is 1708D, the printer is wired connected to our network and has a staitc IP from the DHCP server."
We have:
- Same HP model
- Same firmware
- Also wired ethernet
- Static IP *BUT* hardcoded into printer - *NOT* from DHCP.
We have many problems with this printer. One of them is similar to yours:
- We have clients (All windows 10) who loose connection to the printer. Printer reboot does not help. Only way to restore is to remove the printer in Windows and add it again.
Thus, I'd like to know if using tcp/ip worked out for you?
Additionally, I have the following problems with this printer:
- DNS simply does not work. It worked in the beginning (last spring 2016) but now it only works with hardcoded IP addresses.
- LDAP look up also stopped working menaing that e.g. scan to email is not able to pull up an address book
- Some times we get black stripes on our prints
- Some times we get black stripes on our scans
sigh, Yksop
