Hello, Rainbow 7000,
I have an HP Photosmart 7525 printer that is "not picking up paper from the main paper tray." I have gone through all of the steps HP offers. I have cleaned every rolling part I can find, but it still doesn't perform. Here's some observations:
When it is trying to pick up the paper, I've reached into the paper tray and can't feel that the wheels on the arm that drops down on the right are turning. The other wheels seem to be doing what they're supposed to do.
In the last week or so I had to print up about 40 sheets of Avery sticker labels. It is after this job that the regular paper started not picking up.
Someone mentioned that there is such a thing as a paper sensor that might not be working. How could I check that? Can I?
I suppose I could find someone to try to fix it, but in the end would it just be cheaper to toss it and buy a new one? That's something I don't want to do!
Thanks so much, and I'm hoping I hear from you,
Berry

I am sorry nothing worked to resolve the issue.
I suppose it is possible that printing the labels one-after-another may have had something to do with the roller failure. I had a Photosmart 7520 for a time (loaner) -- the printer printed exemplary photos, a specialty of the Photosmart family of printers -- document printing was decent.
I have now an Officejet Pro 8630 (unfortunately discontinued model) that excels at document and specialty printing. Photo printing is certainly acceptable for my purposes. Officejet provides the Ethernet connection option - stable and worry free. Wireless option, of course.
If you plan on replacing the printer, consider your printing needs - Officejet series emphasize document printing and, depending on the model, provide a number of specialty printing features: custom sizes, lots of Media type (kind of paper) choices, and speed. Photosmart printers provide excellent results for photo / image printing; document printing is acceptable (and fast enough) for home use.
Buy for quality and not initial price.
Read the Specifications, the Datasheet, and the User Guide for the printer before buying it to ensure the printer provides the features you want and need.
Good Luck!

Avery labels require that you (would have) set the Media type to other than "plain paper" -- perhaps thick paper or Brochure matte (whatever is available for your printer).
Ideas
Check the Printing Preferences to ensure that your Media type has been reset to whatever kind of paper you are using now (plain paper or other selection).
Remove all the paper from the printer > shut off printer > load at least 10 sheets (or several more) of plain paper in the main tray and load several sheets of photo paper in the little photo tray > switch on the printer.
Reset the printer > Section Main tray
Remove printer software > reboot > and then reinstall a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software.

If you have not done so, consider installing the Firmware update:

Help, suggestions, and examples:
Install Full Feature Software - Printer
Operating System recently migrated to Windows 10 and / or to re-install the printer software:
- If using a USB cable to connect the printer and computer, disconnect the cable
- Create a Restore Point >
- Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC / Foxit)
- This works best if the computer's Windows (10) Updates are current - check if you are unsure
- Update your HP Drivers (or other vendor computer) - printer software likes updated Drivers
- Verify / Switch-on Network Discovery and Print Sharing
- Open Printer Website Driver Support Page >
- Download a fresh copy of the Full Feature software >
- Remove existing Printer Software from Programs and Features / Apps and Features / All Apps / Devices and Printers >
- Shut down the computer > boot, and log in >
- Install Full Feature Software (find in your Downloads folder > Double-Click on the file) >
- Restart the computer and log in to finish the installation
