I recently purchased a new HP computer and was having problems scanning to my existing HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One. So i downloaded the HP Smart App. Now my printer has been renamed as Scan Only HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One and if it received a print job will print one or two lines of wing dings. It no longer will print anything. I have run the diagnoses and the HP Smart App tells me nothing is wrong.

Remove the old printer driver and re-install. I assume the printer is still connected to the router and works fine otherwise;
By works fine otherwise I mean you can print a Wi-Fi or network status report by pressing buttons on the printer.
Run the following app from the command line
printui /s |
Remove all references to the HP printer. There may be more than one reference.
Install the full feature driver & scanner and then search for the printer
Full function printer drivers can be downloaded here: 7740
Full function software for scanning can be downloaded here: 7720-7740
let me know if there is still a problem or if you need to connect.
