Bought this printer 10 days ago - installed everything as per instructions - Printer E3 error message.

Managed to clear it somehow, but then 2 days later - E3 message again.  Followed all the support guides/WhatsApp help (took 2 hours to get back to me the second time.) 

E3 message again today !

The E3 error message on an HP Smart Tank 555 printer typically indicates a paper jam or a problem with the paper feed mechanism. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

 

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper. Gently remove any stuck paper or foreign objects that may be causing the obstruction.
  3. Make sure the paper guides are properly aligned and adjusted to the correct paper size.
  4. Reload the paper tray with fresh, clean, and undamaged paper. Ensure that the paper stack is not too thick or too thin, as it may cause feeding issues.
  5. Close the printer cover securely.
  6. Plug in the printer and turn it on.
  7. Try printing a test page to see if the error is resolved.

Printer has been returned to the retailer as error persists whatever I do. Hopefully I will get a replacement that actually works!
