Hello, I have a HP Ink Tank Wireless 410 series but isn't showing the ink level at all. Actually, as far as I remember, it never showed. Any one knows what could be? Maybe a problem with the ink sensors in the tank or a firmware problem?

Hi @mhalano
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Ink Tank Wireless 410 series printer isn't displaying the ink levels, here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check Ink Tank Installation
- Ensure that the ink tanks are properly installed. Remove and reseat them to make sure they are connected securely.
2. Update Printer Firmware
- Make sure your printer firmware is up to date:
- You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP Support website.
3. Use the HP Smart App
- The HP Smart app often provides more detailed ink level information. Make sure you have the app installed and connected to your printer to check the ink levels.
4. Clean Ink Sensors
- Sometimes, dust or residue can obstruct the sensors. Gently clean the ink tank area and sensors with a soft, lint-free cloth.
5. Check for Software Issues
- If you're using a computer, ensure that the printer drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website.
6. Print a Test Page
- Printing a test page can sometimes prompt the printer to update the ink level display. Try printing a page to see if that helps.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Yes, I'm using original cartridges, but I don't think the ink level sensor is in the cartridges in a ink tank printer. Of course in a regular printer it will be, but it doesn't make sense to measure how much ink an ink tank printer has in the cartridges since the cartridge is refilled with the ink from the tank, so the sensor is, or should be, in the tank.

Hi @mhalano,
Thank you for your response,
You're correct! In ink tank printers like the HP Ink Tank Wireless 410 series, the ink level sensor is typically in the tank rather than the cartridges. Here are a few steps to check the ink levels:
Check the Ink Tanks: Look at the ink tanks themselves. They usually have transparent sides that allow you to see the ink levels directly.
HP Smart App: If you're using the HP Smart app, it should provide an estimate of the ink levels. Make sure the app is up to date.
Printer Control Panel: If your printer has a control panel, there may be an option to check ink levels directly from there.
Firmware Update: Ensure your printer's firmware is updated. Sometimes, issues with ink level reporting can be resolved with an update.
Reboot the Printer: Power cycling the printer can sometimes reset the sensors and allow them to report the ink levels correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I can see there is ink just looking in the tank, but I would expect to be able to see the level using the HP Smart app or the web interface, but I can't. There is no firmware update for my printer. I already rebooted my printer. I would like to know if this is a known problem because I can't remember of the ink level being reported.

Hi @mhalano,
Thank you for your response. It sounds frustrating not being able to see the ink levels for your HP Ink Tank Wireless 410 series printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
1. Check HP Smart App Settings
- Ensure that the app has the necessary permissions to access the printer and that you're logged into the correct HP account associated with your printer.
2. Reinstall the HP Smart App
- Sometimes, reinstalling the app can resolve connectivity issues:
- Uninstall the HP Smart app from your device.
- Reinstall it from the Microsoft Store or your device's app store.
- Re-add your printer to the app.
3. Verify Printer Connection
- Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can check the connection status on the printer’s control panel.
- Print a network configuration page from the printer to verify it is connected to the correct network.
4. Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can diagnose and fix many printer issues, including connectivity and software problems.
5. Check for Software Updates
- Even if the printer firmware is up to date, ensure that the HP Smart app is also updated to the latest version.
6. Try a Different Device
- If possible, try accessing the ink levels from a different device (another smartphone, tablet, or computer) using the HP Smart app or the HP website.
