Hi
my printer is blocked at startup with the message Validating... please wait. I tried to follow some advices here (removing Power cord ) but nothing solved. Is there any possibility for a hard reset to factory settings please? (If it exists and solves..)
Many thanks

Hello
as I wrote, I am totally blocked with the printer. I already tried to remove the power cable from wall socket etc.
The printer is blocked and displays "Validating... Please wait".
I can't update its drivers, nor restore the factory settings : from my computer with internal IP address or from the application on my smartphone, it says that the printer is busy.
Is there any action on the printer itself to reboot to factory settings please ?
Many thanks
Regards
David

Hey @Dvdrom54,
Thank you for your response
If your HP OfficeJet 8024e printer is stuck on the "Validating... Please wait" screen, and you are unable to access it via your computer or smartphone, there are a few troubleshooting steps you might try:
Power Reset:
- Turn off your printer by pressing the power button. If the printer doesn't respond, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet as well.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Connect the power cable back into the printer and then into the wall outlet.
- Turn on the printer and check if the issue persists.
Performing a Factory Reset via the Printer: Unfortunately, not all printer models have a direct factory reset button. However, if there's an option available on the printer's control panel, you can try the following generic steps:
- Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
- Access the printer's settings via the control panel. Look for options like "Setup" or "Menu."
- Navigate to "Printer Maintenance" or "Tools."
- Look for an option labeled "Restore Factory Settings" or similar.
- Confirm the action to reset.
Manual Firmware Update:
- Check on the HP support website to see if there is a firmware update file you can download manually.
- Download the update onto a USB drive.
- Insert the USB drive into your printer, and follow any prompts to update the firmware directly from the USB.
I hope this helps.
